## What this part tests

Part 1 tests whether you can introduce yourself in German. You say the most important things about yourself: name, country, language, place of residence, age and perhaps occupation or hobby. You often use keywords given to you.

In addition you usually have to spell a word (for example your name) and say a number (for example your phone number or age). So practice the alphabet and numbers.

It’s about simple, full sentences, not a perfect speech. Whoever has a few phrases ready (“Ich heiße …”, “Ich komme aus …”) introduces themselves confidently.
