Hörverstehen (Listening Comprehension)

Listening is one of the four modules of the Goethe-Zertifikat A1 exam. You hear short, simple everyday texts – small conversations, announcements and answering-machine messages – and solve tasks about them. In total that’s 15 tasks in three parts. You have around 20 minutes for it.

Schriftlicher Ausdruck (Written Expression)

Writing is the module of the Goethe-Zertifikat A1 exam where you produce text yourself. It has two parts: in Part 1 you fill in a form (five missing pieces of information), in Part 2 you write a short personal message – for example a text message or a short note. You have around 20 minutes for it.

Mündlicher Ausdruck (Oral Expression)

Speaking – the oral exam – is the fourth module of the Goethe-Zertifikat A1 exam. You speak in three parts, usually in a small group with other participants. The exam lasts around 15 minutes. You speak with the others and with the examiner.

How is the Goethe-Zertifikat A1 structured?

How long does the Goethe-Zertifikat A1 take?
