Key takeaways

  • You give a short presentation on a topic – with a clear structure.
  • Talk about your experience, your home country, pros and cons and your opinion.

What this part tests

Part 2 tests whether you can present freely and coherently on a topic. You get a topic (for example “Einkaufen im Internet” or “Feste in meinem Land”) and present it in several steps – often based on given aspects or “slides”.

A good structure has fixed parts: introduce the topic, tell of your own experience, describe the situation in your home country, name pros and cons and give your opinion. Coherent speaking matters, not just keywords.

Whoever knows the structure and suitable phrases presents confidently. Speak in whole sentences, connect your thoughts and stay on topic. Afterwards your partner (or the examiner) asks you a question.

    Name advantages and disadvantages.

  5. 5

Give your opinion and close (“Zum Schluss möchte ich sagen …”).

Example task with answer

A short example in the same format: how to build the presentation.

Aufgabe

Halte eine kurze Präsentation zum Thema „Einkaufen im Internet". Geh auf deine Erfahrung, die Situation in deinem Land, Vor- und Nachteile und deine Meinung ein.

Example (extract):

Why? The example follows the clear structure (topic, experience, home country, pros and cons, opinion), speaks in whole, connected sentences and stays on topic – exactly what Part 2 expects.

Practice: test yourself

In Teil 2 hältst du eine Präsentation zum Thema „Einkaufen im Internet".

Which sentence opens the presentation well?

Common mistakes

1
Only keywords

Speak in whole sentences, not just single words. Connect your thoughts.

2
No clear structure

Follow the steps: topic, experience, home country, pros and cons, opinion.

3
No opinion

Give your opinion at the end – it’s part of the presentation.

4
Drifting off topic

Stay on the given topic and its aspects.

Tips

  • Learn the fixed structure by heart: topic – experience – home country – pros/cons – opinion.
  • Use phrases to structure: “Zuerst …”, “Außerdem …”, “Zum Schluss …”.
  • Practice your presentation aloud so you speak coherently.

Frequently asked questions

How is a good presentation structured?

In fixed steps: introduce the topic, own experience, situation in the home country, pros and cons, own opinion. Often there are given aspects or “slides” for this.

How long does the presentation last?

Only a few minutes. More important than the length is a clear structure and coherent speaking.

Do I have to give my opinion?

Yes. At the end of the presentation your own opinion on the topic is part of it.

What’s the best way to practice Part 2?

Practice presentations on many topics with the same structure. A Prepliq mock grades your speaking automatically.
