Key takeaways
Part 2 tests whether you can follow a longer interview – usually a host asks an expert about a topic. You answer six tasks with three options each (a, b or c).
The tasks follow the order of the interview. At B2 the correct answer is paraphrased, and you must grasp the interviewed person’s statements, reasons and qualifications precisely. You hear the interview twice.
Wrong options often pick up a word but distort the meaning, or mix up statements of host and guest. Watch who says what. Every correct answer scores points; wrong answers are not penalized.
Before listening, read all six tasks and mark key words.
Listen to the interview and follow the tasks in order.
Watch the statements of the interviewed person, not just the host.
Choose the option that reflects the statement precisely – including qualifications.
Check your answers on the second listening.
A short example in the same format: you hear an extract and choose the right option.
What does Herr Klein say about the printed book?
Why? Herr Klein says e-books are becoming more important, “aber das gedruckte Buch wird nicht verschwinden”. That’s b. (a) and (c) contradict his statement.
How does Frau Berg assess a language stay abroad?
