Key takeaways
Part 3 tests whether you understand short everyday conversations – for example an arrangement, a conversation while shopping or at the station. For each conversation you decide whether a statement is true or false.
Often what matters is the result of the conversation: what do the people agree on? what is decided? Listen to the end, because the answer often comes only at the end (“dann machen wir das so”).
A false statement often picks up a first suggestion that is then changed (Saturday → Sunday). Watch for the final decision. Every correct decision scores points; wrong answers are not penalized.
Before listening, read the statement and mark the important information.
Listen to the conversation to the end – the decision often comes at the end.
Pay attention to what the people agree on in the end.
Compare the statement with the result: is it correct?
Decide and transfer your answer to the answer sheet.
A short example in the same format: you hear a short conversation and decide whether the statement is true.
„Nehmen wir den Bus oder das Fahrrad?" – „Bei dem Regen lieber den Bus." – „Okay, dann fahren wir mit dem Bus."
Statement: “The people go by bike.”
Why? Because of the rain they decide on the bus (“dann fahren wir mit dem Bus”). The statement about the bike is wrong – false.
Du hörst (sinngemäß): „Wollen wir am Samstag ins Kino gehen?" – „Am Samstag kann ich leider nicht. Aber am Sonntag habe ich Zeit." – „Gut, dann gehen wir am Sonntag."
Is the statement true or false? Statement: “The two people go to the cinema on Sunday.”
